About Little Woods Montessori

Little Woods Montessori on Balestier Road holds a 5.0 Google rating and brings a distinctive integration of Montessori pedagogy and nature-based learning to its programme. The Montessori method: with its emphasis on self-directed activity, prepared learning environments, and the child's intrinsic drive to master skills: aligns naturally with forest school principles, and Little Woods has built a programme that draws coherently from both traditions. Children at Little Woods Montessori work with natural materials in Montessori-prepared environments, use the outdoor setting for sensory botany, living systems study, and free nature play, and develop the independence and self-regulation that both Montessori and forest school pedagogies place at the centre of early development. The Balestier location gives Little Woods access to the green corridors and community gardens of the central island, and its operating hours of Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 3:30 PM reflect a programme structured around morning learning sessions that are characteristic of quality Montessori operators. For families who are drawn to both the Montessori philosophy and the nature-based education movement but have found few programmes that integrate the two coherently, Little Woods Montessori is one of Singapore's only operators explicitly working at this intersection. Its 5.0 rating confirms that families who have chosen this approach are receiving outcomes that match the programme's promise.
