About L5 Bak Kut Teh
L5 Bak Kut Teh, known locally as Lao Wu Ba Sheng Rou Gu Cha, operates from Grantral Mall in MacPherson and has quietly built a 4.7-star rating across 372 Google reviews without the marketing budget of larger chains. The kitchen focuses on a traditional herbal-leaning broth that balances pepper with a subtle sweetness from long-simmered pork bones. Portions are generous and the side dish selection includes braised tofu skin and black fungus. The MacPherson location makes it a favourite for residents in the east of Singapore seeking a quality local alternative to the better-known brands. Active on Instagram at @l5bkt, the brand has a growing following that reflects real customer enthusiasm rather than paid promotion. A genuine find for bak kut teh enthusiasts willing to travel slightly off the beaten path.
